Requirements

Use this page to check the baseline requirements before running the STREAM Connect Agent. For an overview of enrollment, communication, and monitoring, see the Introduction.

Runtime model

The STREAM Connect Agent will run as a Docker container. The target deployment environment is intentionally kept lightweight and should not require extensive manual setup.

For most use cases, a small host or virtual machine should be sufficient.

  • CPU: 2 vCPUs or 2 physical cores
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM is sufficient, 8 GB RAM is recommended
  • Disk space: 20 GB of available disk space (for the OS, container images, and agent data)

These figures are intentionally conservative and should provide more than enough headroom for typical agent workloads.

Software prerequisites

  • Docker runtime: Docker Engine 24.0 or later, or a compatible container runtime capable of running OCI containers
  • Operating system: Debian 12 (Bookworm) or later

Network requirements

  • Outbound connectivity: The agent requires outbound HTTPS access (port 443) to STREAM Cloud
  • No inbound ports required: No inbound port exposure is required for operation
  • Stable internet connection: The agent can tolerate short interruptions, but a generally stable connection is recommended
